Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has thrown a jibe at the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after Jubilee Party won Wajir West parliamentary seat by-election.
Ahmed Kolosh who vied on Jubilee ticket garnered 11,053 votes to defeat Sheikh Ibrahim of KANU who emerged a distant second with 6,532 votes.
Kolosh decamped from Raila Odinga-led ODM to President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee after the Supreme Court cancelled his August 8, 2017 victory over irregularities.
ODM withdrew its candidate, Mohamed Yusuf, from the contest two weeks to mini poll citing an 'agreement' between Uhuru and Raila.
Moments after the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declared Kolosh the winner, Khalwale mocked ODM and asked it to join the 'hustler's nation' in congratulating the MP-elect.
Hustler's nation refers to the camp supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
"Ha! Good morning batoto ba The ODM Party. Ahmed Kolosh, your immediate former MP has won the Wajir West by election. Join us in the hustler's nation in giving him a hearty congratulation. Sorry, the guy is now a Jubilee MP! But isn't your baba in China?" he posted on Twitter.
'Baba' (father) is the term ODM supporters use in reference to their party leader, Raila, who accompanied President Uhuru to China for a state visit.
