Kikuyu benga musician Timothy Njuguna, popularly known as Mighty Salim, is appealing to well-wishers to help him raise Sh3 million for a kidney transplant.
The 39-year-old Mugithi musician has been in and out of hospital after he was diagnosed with kidney failure in November last year.
The artist has been receiving treatment at the Gatundu District Hospital where he goes for his biweekly dialysis sessions.
In a video shared online by Gikuyu Bulletin, Salim urged his fans to come out in large numbers during his fundraising event which will be held at Turacco village in Ruiru.
The event slated for March 16, 2019, will be graced by his colleagues in the music industry, among them John De’ Mathew.
Salim, however, dismissed claims that he was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and assured his fans that he was strong and undergoing treatment.
The popular musician, who lost his elder brother Salim Junior three years ago, hails from a family of musicians in Subukia, Nakuru County.
