An angry man hacked to death his wife's secret lover after he busted them having sex inside a house whose construction is ongoing.
The incident happened on Sunday evening at Geteri area in Kisii County.
Confirming the incident, area chief Peter Machoni said the deceased identified as Raphael was hit with a blunt object and died on spot.
"Raphael has been having an affair with Janet Gesare who is married to Geoffrey Nyakundi. Mr. Nyakundi laid a trap on them when Gesare left to Nyakoe market to buy vegetables only for Raphael to lure her into a house whose construction is ongoing," he said.
The chief said Nyakundi armed with a metal rod, stormed the scene and caught them doing sex.
"Angered Nyakundi, when he found Raphael having sex with his wife, he hit him with a metal rod from the back of his head killing him instantly," he said.
Mr. Machoni said Nyakundi chased after his wife in vain.He said the suspect has since gone into hiding fearing police arrest. The administrator said Gesare is also on the run.
"The deceased body was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue," he added.
The chief assured that Nyakundi and Gesare are being hunted down by police.
