In December 2014, Alex Mutua, 28 met Jackline, 23 (not real names) at Kitengela town in Kajiado County.
They fell in love, visited and introduced each other to their parents and even sired a child together.
But devil interfered with their love three years later.
It all happened when in November 2017, Mutua received a call from his "rich neighbor" in Makueni to go and work in his farm promising him good salary.
Mutua was then selling movies and music CDs in Kitengela and since the rich man promised him good salary he decided to go to Kibwezi in Makueni County to start the new job.
He left Jackline, a woman from Nyamira County in Kitengela promising to be sending her money to take care of herself and the child promising to join her later for marriage.
"Things changed when I arrived in Makueni and found this beautiful house girl in my boss's compound and as many say, "men are polygamous," Mutua said.
He started a new relationship with this girl and forgot Jackline.
Jackline could call but Mutua ignored her calls. She sent him text messages but no replies, so she decided to go and visit him without his knowledge.
"When Jackline got to Kibwezi, she approached one of the bodaboda operators who told her that he knew the rich man's home and he would take her to the home," terrified Mutua explained to this writer.
He says the bodaboda operator is close to the rich man's family, so he told Jackline everything about Mutua and her new girlfriend.
"She alighted at the gate and unknowingly I opened for her. The look on her face showed how sad and painful she was," Mutua tells.
Jackline just looked at him, cried and went away with the bodaboda operator.
When she got to Kitengela, she called Mutua and told him that she knows what he is doing in the village and she will teach him a lesson.
"She switched off her phone from that day, I think she changed her number. But a few weeks later, I have noticed that my breasts have been growing everyday," Mutua said in tears.
He says he just wants to meet Jackline and apologize to her.
"See how my life is affected, people laugh at me. I don't know how this will end. I fear witchcraft and I may die," he said.
We left him in sorrow but promised him if we find Jackline we will tell her to go see him.
But where do we meet him?
This is, a good lesson to other men. Keep promises or don't promise.
