Youth department Chief Administrative Secretary Rachael Shebesh has hailed ODM leader Raila Odinga as a formidable politician.
In a meeting with former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga on Wednesday, Mrs Shebesh, a former Nairobi Woman Representative, said it is dangerous for anyone to underrate Mr Odinga.
She acknowledged that Odinga commands huge following in the country, adding that he gave President Uhuru Kenyatta sleepless nights in the previous polls.
Nominated first to parliament by Raila, Shebesh insisted that President Uhuru Kenyatta was not blind to chose peace with the ODM leader last year.
"I am happy Maina Njenga that you have hosted us. Embrace Kenya are those women supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta. Those of us from Jubilee are few, majority are on the other side.
"Uhuru wants a united nation where even Mt Kenya people can do business everywhere. That's why he joined hands with Raila. Never underrate Raila's strength. He scored in more than half of this country even though he had no money. He gave us sleepless nights. Uhuru wasn't stupid to work with Raila," she said.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is keen to stamp his authority by leaving behind a good legacy. He has been working closely with Mr Odinga since March last year.
In an interview with KTN on Wednesday, former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo also said Odinga commands huge following and his decision to work with government would lead to anarchy by the state.
He acknowledged that it's only Mr Odinga who could speak on issues going badly in government and cause tensions thus leading to necessary action by government.
"The country is still divided. The man who is able to speak and control huge crowds is Raila Odinga and he is in the handshake," he said.
