Majority leader Aden Duale has revealed that President Kenyatta is set to officially sack two Kenyan ambassadors over alleged involvement in graft deals.
In a televised interview with BBC Swahili, Duale revealed that former Sports PS Richard Ekai who is the Kenyan ambassador to Russia and the Ex-Sports boss Hassan Wario, the ambassador to Austria are set to face the axe and other clean individuals appointed to take over the two powerful positions.
"In our existing Kenyan laws, anyone named in graft cases should just resign or rather step aside pending investigations. For the two ambassadors to Russia and Austria, the President has no option but to appoint new individuals to take up the posts," Duale stated in the live interview.
Ambassador Ekai among two others has been accused of embezzling Sh16.8 million in underutilized air tickets, Sh15.9 million in overpaid staff allowances, and Sh6.5 million illegal expenditure on unauthorized persons in the sports ministry.
On his part, Hassan Wario has been is facing criminal charges over his alleged role in the mismanagement of public funds for the Kenyan athletics team which represented the country in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games held in Brazil.
