A female politician from Gusii region has now claimed that male politicians doesn't want to pass the gender bill because they want to continue being corrupt.
According Rachael Otundo, male MPs are scared of women because women will be whistle blowers.
"Women we are always transparent and this is the reason male politicians doesn't want more women in Parliament because their dubious dealings will be stopped," she stated.
She also noted that it is hard for women to be compromised as compared to men.
"It is not easy to bribe a woman as compared to men who takes bribes easily. Male politicians will do everything possible to ensure the two thirds gender bill doesn't sail through so that they can continue with their illegal dealings," she argued.
Ms Otundo, who doubles as Gusii Governance Watch secretary general, a Human Rights activists group, appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene.
"The Head of State should not be silent over the gender bill which flopped on Wednesday. The bill need to be passed to increased the number of women in leadership," she added.
The National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi said the gender bill could not be passed since there was no quorum in the House.
