Citizen TV anchor Jacque Maribe has disputed claims that she drove to her house along with Joseph Irungu alias Jowie when Monica Kimani died.
Detectives had established that Ms. Maribe in the company of Irungu during the fateful night, adding that the two drove together to their Royal Park Estate.
In a blow by blow affidavit filed in court, Maribe insited that she was asleep when her fiance arrive home from town.
"I was asleep in my house and he (Irungu) came. I wasn't with him as being claimed," reads parts of her compelling affidavits.
She adds: "I heard gunshots out of the house and when I rushed their, I found Irungu in great pain with blood oozing out."
Her statement contradicts that of her house girl who insisted that Irungu shot himself inside the house before burning clothes he was wearing.
Their neighbour Brian Kassaine had also told the police that Mr. Irungu knocked at his house at 1am and told him to pick his gun from the house.
He also revealed that Maribe had kicked Irungu out of the house, adding that the couple were not strangers to scuffles.
Police insisted that Maribe was picked by Irungu the day Monica Kimani from a club in Westlands and the two drove home.
Mr. Irungu's fingerprints were traced on Monica's wine glasses with detectives linking him to the gruesome murder.
