Ndile says that he will support a referendum to scrap come political seats.

According to the former lawmaker, some elective seats need to be scrapped out and others reduced to save Kenyans the heavy burden of taxes.

The former MP says that there is a duplication of roles in terms of representation.

“The constitution should be amended and some elective seats scrapped and others reduced to manageable levels,” he said on Saturday in Mavoko town.

Ndile said that that rising national debt should worry Kenyans.

The former MP, however, opposed calls to amend the constitution in order to create more political seats.

He asked Kenyans to reject the referendum push if those pushing it want to create more political seats for themselves.

The referendum debate has heated up with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga pushing for it.

Raila has been quoted saying that the referendum push is unstoppable.

Majority of Ukambani politicians are also backing the referendum push.
