Their reactions followed a series of Khalwale's remarks about Uhuru's government's successes with the recent one being the decision by the head of State to cut the 16 per cent tax slapped on petroleum products to eight per cent.

Khalwale on Friday praised Uhuru for the move which the president had said would cushion Kenyans against excessive taxation.

Said Khawale: "Listening to his tone and words am persuaded that ⁦Uhuru Kenyatta⁩ has come to terms with the gravity of the state of our nation. Mr President, am 100 per cent with you on your anti-corruption crusade and am pleased that you have seriously reflected on the 16 per cent fuel levy. Kudos!"

His sentiment elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans.

"Continue begging for a job, we know," said Captain Bii before Zad Makaveli said: "Just send your CV to Uhuru Kenyatta and stop all this madness. We know it is a job you are looking for."

"Ask for a job slowly," posted MaaNationSince1905.

"Nonsense. Nowadays you clap at anything," Talk posted before another Twitter user, Truth Seeker said: "You think sycophancy will earn you a Government appointment?"

"Who is he recommending to? He should order his CS to implement the 8 percent immediately. If it's a job you are looking for, just say. Nkt," said KKadipo.

"Hon President, Bonny is a looking for a job," said JohnG.

"You will land a job soon. Keep posting, commending and even running from one media station to another," said Wanyonyi.

"You are looking for a job. Say the truth," posted Ja'Nyamware.
