Caspar Obiero, one of the leading suspects in the September 3 murder has since written to the President of Court of Appeal, William Ouko requesting for medical intervention.

Through his lawyer, Obiero says that one of his lungs has collapsed says that he has not received any help while in custody.

“I have been left at the mercy of nature wherein I continue to wilt, deteriorate and die a slow and painful death,” he wrote in part, according to the Standard.

According to his lawyer, the former Migori County official is in critical condition. His health, the lawyer says is further worsening, in a letter that was received by Ouko's office in December 3, 2018.

"The ongoing impasse has led to our client's health to continue to deteriorate and his position worsens every day," a letter by his lawyer Jack Oronga reads in part.

Currently serving his remand term at the Kamiti Maximum Prison, Obiero argues that he has not received any help from the Kenyatta National Hospital because of standing debts the prisons owe the referral health facility.

Obiero landed in trouble after detectives linked his Toyota Fielder car to the abduction of Sharon outside the Graca Hotel in Rongo, Migori County prior to her killing.

Sharon was later found brutally killed in a thicket in Oyugis, Homa Bay county.

He (Obiero) was charged alongside Migori Governor Okoth Obado and Obado's aide Michael Oyamo.

Obado was, however, released in October pending the hearing of the case early next year, leaving the duo in custody.
