According to the Standard, the President has retreated to the Coastal city with speculations rife that a new Cabinet is about to be announced.

Amid all these reports, who are these people that are most likely going to make the cut and make it to Uhuru’s ‘Dream Team’ to spearhead the Big Four agenda?

Former Matuga MP and Cabinet Minister Chirau Ali Mwakwere may be the unexpected man who may bounce back with a Cabinet Secretary position in the looming Cabinet reshuffle.

The former Kenyan Ambassador to Tanzania lost his bid to oust Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya in the 2017 gubernatorial race. Since then, he has been languishing in the political cold.

When Uhuru last named his Cabinet, Coast region politicians complained that they had been given a raw deal.

And for the first time in the history of the region, there is no member of the Mijikenda community in the Cabinet. So, with his experience in government, is Mwakwere the man who will represent the interests of the community in the new government?

Though he had at one point crossed paths with Uhuru, his political stature stands out and may hand him a job.
