In an interview with Citizen Digital on Monday, Winnie, who is opposition chief Raila Odinga's daughter, maintained that she is not aware of the sale of the social media pages as alleged by some fans.

This comes after the page, which had more than 300,000 followers was renamed ‘Love Kenya.’

It has now emerged that the football club does not own any social media pages, as the accounts are run independently by a group of individuals on behalf of the team.

A leaked phone call between two top officials exposed the wrangles being witnessed at the club, as one of the officials can be heard claiming that Winnie had attempted to take control of the social media pages following reports that she was appointed as head of the club's communication department.

“We’re not just going to let those things go, not even because I’m an official, but also as a fan who has the best interests of the club at heart… I’m not going to let those things go simply because she (Winnie) is Odinga’s daughter,” said one of the officials in the phone conversation.

Winnie has however denied the claims, insisting that she was not involved in the matter.

“These guys are just having their own wars and I don’t know why they’re bringing me into it. First of all, let me just make my position extremely clear, I am not the communications person for Gor Mahia… I never have been,” said Winnie, as quoted by the daily.

“About pages going down, I don’t know. There’s a guy called KGM, never met or spoken to him. They’re having internal wars and trying to fix me into it,” she added.
