At Migori on Friday, Mr Odinga insisted that the impending change is inevitable, adding that critics could find themselves in political oblivion if they don't support his initiative with President Uhuru Kenyatta of promoting peace.

“You cannot resist change. If you try to, it will overwhelm you. An idea whose time has come cannot be stopped," he said at Nyatike grounds.

Dr Ruto has often opposed Building Bridges Initiative, arguing that it's main motive is to block his presidential bid. Mr Odinga has hinted a referendum which will bring about changes in governance, a move opposed to Ruto.

But Mr Odinga warned that all issues raised in 2017 polls including reforms, will be addressed in the impending changes to the constitution.

“2022 is going to come and Kenyans are going to deal with it. We are dealing with Kenya now and we are determined to heal the 2017 political and electoral wounds," Mr Odinga added.

Among issues that Mr Odinga wants introduced include parliamentary system of government which would see Prime Minister post introduced to the county. Presidency will be ceremonies in that set-up.

Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga asked leaders to stay put and oppose leaders spearheading anti-handshake campaigns.

“[Do not stop working] just because someone who has publicly admitted to being part of the corruption cartel has intimidated you,” she said, without giving details.
