The aim of such politicians of establishing radio stations especially transmitting in their native languages is to drive their political agenda, other than making money just like any other business.

There are several radio stations owned by politicians in Ukambani.

Here is a list of radio stations linked to politicians in Ukambani:

1. County Fm

This radio station is popular in Kitui and Makueni counties.

County FM is owned by former Kitui senator David Musila.

2. Athiani FM

Athiani FM was launched in late 2012.

It serves the three Ukambani counties among other regions.

The counties include Machakos, Makueni and Kitui.

Athiani FM is owned by former Vice President and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Kalonzo graced the re-launching of the radio in Kilimani a month ago.

3. Mbaitu FM

A rival FM radio station to Athiani FM serving the three Ukambani counties among other regions.

Among the popular Kamba radio station owned by Kitui Governor and former Lands Minister Charity Kaluki Ngilu.

Ngilu is also the owner of Syokimau FM, Mbaitu's sister radio station which serves Kitui, Makueni and some parts of Machakos counties.
