South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro has urged youths to stop using social media to cause divisions among elected leaders from Gusii region.
The lawmaker accused a section of youths who are using social media to spread lies about leaders.
"Gusii leaders among them Governors, MPs, senators, MCAs and our hard-working Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang'i are working as a team to develop the region. Some youths who are being used to write stories which are untrue about leaders on social media platforms must stop," the MP said as reported by Egesa Fm.
He said petty politics should be ignored by leaders because this is not the right time to talk politics.
The vocal legislator challenged youths to keep off local leaders who are buying them cheap bundles to continue writing false stories about others.
"Our youths should use social media to develop themselves and not spreading falsehood. It is high time our youths to venture into constructive things that will boost their lives instead of accepting to be used by greedy leaders who are out to seek political mileage using the backdoor," added the MP.
