Kimilili legislator Didmus Barasa vowed to back reintroduction of Sexual Offences Bill which is being sponsored by National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale.

The harsh talking Barasa observed randy men were taking advantage of the innocence of young girls and recommended castration as a means of addressing teenage pregnancy menace in the country.

"Those men who go after school girls for love making, hence distorting their academic future have no difference with wild animals. They should be castrated and only left with a capability to urinate" he said on Monday in a Facebook post.

The first-time MP spoke during the launch of a campaign to distribute sanitary towels to girls in schools within Bungoma County which is being spearheaded by area Women Representative Catherine Wambilianga.

Barasa further pledged to support Wambilianga's proposal which will compel the State to provide school girls with sanitary towels for free.

"I will be among the many MPs that will support the motion that will be tabled in parliament by Hon. Catherine soon that will be seeking the government to supply sanitary towels to our girls in school," the Jubilee MP during a function held at Matulo Girls Secondary School.

The high number of pregnant teenagers during the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations shocked the country leading to clamour for castration of men who commit the sexual offence.
