Even though Valentine’s Day is approaching, many students in the University of Eldoret (UoE) are still single. Others are still in a quagmire of whom they are taking out on the love day.

Well, worry not for the single’s pre-valentine’s party is here. This event has been organized by Stacie Ruto and Mwende Mutua, fourth-year computer science students at UoE, and it is meant to bring all the single lasses and gentlemen together.

According to Miss Ruto, the gentlemen will be moving from table to table for five minutes until they find their desired partner.

“It is a matchmaking event where you decide within the first five minutes whether he or she is the one. After every five minutes, the gents would hop to the next table, whereas the ladies stay seated at the same table,” said Ruto adding that “If a match is made, the new couple is allowed to leave the grounds and live happily ever after. Otherwise, the speed dater continues to hop from table to table until he gets to meet the perfect match.”

The best things about the event are not only about the free snacks and drinks but it is also about the kissing booth where the new partners will get to have romantic moments.

The event will be held on Saturday, February 9, at the University of Eldoret Arboretum.

Tickets cost Sh100.
