Former President Daniel arap Moi has been discharged from the Nairobi Hospital where he has been admitted since last week.

According to doctors at the facility, the former Head of State is fine to go home.

Moi had visited the facility for a routine medical check up. 

His communication secretary Lee Njiru issued a statement where he revealed that Moi was resting at his Kabarnet Gardens residence. Moi has been suffering from a knee problem. 

The knee problem began when Moi was involved in an accident back in 2006.

He has previously undergone check-ups in Tel Aviv, Israel.
