Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Monday leaked a phone conversation with Nairobi businessman Mr Praful Kumar.

According to the phone conversation, Mr Kumar was planning to bribe Sonko to allow him to construct a hotel in Gigiri.

This comes after constructions on the hotel had been stopped by the County Government of Nairobi on Thursday, August 16.

Sonko, however, tells Kumar that he is willing to assist him through legal means, adding that he would jail the businessman if he attempted to bribe him.  

The leaked conversation has elicited mixed reactions among Kiambu residents, with a section of them criticising the county boss for recording his calls.
