Just days after residents raised concern on the disappearance of their donkeys in the region, Elwak South Member of County Assembly (MCA) Abdinur Diisow Teno has finally responded to the issue.
In a social media post, MCA Abdinur stated that he was aware of the issue and that security agencies had been notified to make follow up on the matter.
"Following yesterday trending videos and audio about public outcry on donkey thefts/disappearance alleged to be going on couple of months in Elwak, first i would like to send my message of pole to all those who are affected and lost their donkeys in the said saga, I wish to acknowledge your plea and am glad to report that i have shared the clip and handful other issues concerning the security that is derailing the already fragile economy of Elwak town with the security apparatus on the ground and they have already started the operation and so far rescued some stolen donkeys by last night and the operation on flashing out the people behind this illegal business is on course," stated the MCA.
This emerges even as reports indicate that a number of donkeys have been recovered and were under the custody of Kenya national police reservists at Bula Wajir.
