Controversial Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has hailed Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i as a 'true patriot' who is keen to leave a mark in every department he serves.
Speaking at Nyanturago village in West Mugirango on Friday, Kuria said he will not hesitate to pick the seasoned minister as his running mate ahead of 2022 polls.
According to Kuria, Matiang'i will help him shape the economy of the country given his technocratic approach to issues affecting the country.
"Dr Matiang'i is a professional and doesn't dwell in politics. The kind of reception I have gotten here also shows a lot that Abagusii community will not disappoint me at the ballot.
"I will pick Matiang'i as running mate given his track record. He's too much concerned with transformation rather than rhetoric and unnecessary confrontations," noted Kuria.
He was accompanied by Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, Senator Okong'o Mogeni and area MP Vincent Kemosi. It was Kuria's second trip to Nyamira.
Senator Okong'o Mogeni said there was nothing unusual for Mr Kuria to try his luck, adding that Kenyans need a variety of options to choose from as Uhuru Kenyatta's succession takes new direction.
Lately, Kuria seems to be drifting away from President Uhuru Kenyatta. On Saturday, he questioned Uhuru's commitment with Yoweri Museveni, adding that Kenya got a raw deal.
