Residents of Mwanyakwabara village, Bogitaa in Riana ward Kisii County were on Monday evening shocked after the body of a 3-month-old baby was retrieved from a toilet.
The deceased is said to have been killed by his parents Daniel Nyamweya and Spinca Kwamboka and buried in a pit latrine which was not in use on Tuesday last week.
Confirming the incident Riana chief Edward Moenda said the couple travelled home from Thika, Kiambu County where they live only to kill the baby.

"The couple killed the baby and buried the body in toilet secretly without the knowledge of neighbours," he said.
The administrator said family members raised alarm after the couple failed to explain the whereabouts of the baby.
"Family members living in Thika called me to confirm whether the baby was left at home as the couple claimed. I rushed to the homestead to know if the baby was there only to find the baby missing. The couple was arrested in Thika and revealed to police that they had buried the baby after killing him," said the chief.
