Attendance of Peter Magana Kenyatta in Jomo Kenyatta's 40th anniversary has reignited old independence debate of genuine fighters and collaborators.
Mr. Mgana, 75, was the only child from Jomo's second marriage with Edna Clarke, a Briton who died in 1995.
At Borabu Watchtowers, users were sharply divided over Kenyatta's contributions towards independence with some calling him a 'sellout'.
"Jomo Kenyatta was not a freedom fighter. He masqueraded as Mau Mau yet he was moving around with British women," said Sam Omosa.
Another user Menge Aruasa added: "He was just an impostor. That is why he never saw the reason to give out fighters their ancestral land after Independence."
But some claimed that Kenyatta's might have used the 'British women' to gather information for the success of Mau Mau fighters.
"If you want to bring down the enemy, sometimes you fight from within. I don't see any wrong Kenyatta did by having Britons around him," added Edward Tinega.
Mr. Magana, who rarely visits his Kenyan family, is a trained journalist and served as BBC Programme Producer for many years.
During the service, Mgana sat beside his stepmother, Mama Ngina and President Uhuru Kenyatta at Holy Family Basilica.
