In April, 2015, Garissa University was attacked by armed men leaving 147 dead and scores injured.

Following the terrorist attack, the rapper organized a Pray For Kenya benefit concert to support the families of the victims.

James launched a campaign to raise $147,000 (Sh15 million) for the survivors and families of those who died in the Garissa University terror attack.

The rapper, through a video on Facebook, said that he will stage a free concert in Kenya to raise more money on top of the Sh15 million to be disbursed to the families of the victims.

The composer of the ‘All Gold Everything’ hit song further said that he started a fundraising website for those willing to contribute.

“I wanna be able to present a cheque at the end of the show for $ 147,000 to those families and see that smile on everyone’s face in the crowd and to let Africa, not just Kenya, but especially those families know that we care.”

“I want to let the families know that we care. 147 is not just a number, that’s insane, these were people, daughters, sons, mothers, and parents. I ask the world to care and be aware,” he said as quoted by Daily Nation.
