Political analyst Ambrose Weda now says that there is nothing suspicious going on between President Uhuru Kenyatta and retired President Daniel Moi.
Uhuru on Saturday visited the ailing former head of state in his Kabarak home, a visit that was, however, skipped by his deputy William Ruto who was attending a separate event a few kilometers away.
But speaking on KBC English Service early Wednesday, Weda said that the same is inconsequential in the Jubilee Party formation and the 2022 presidential race.
He noted that it is unusual for both the President and his deputy to jointly participate in a meeting, adding that the same was more like a father-son deliberation.
‘’It is very unusual for Uhuru to meet people in the company of Ruto. Also, Moi catapulted Uhuru to where he is now and he might have passed by to say hallo to a man he will forever be grateful to,’’ said Weda.
The meeting was also attended by Moi’s son and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, who is reportedly at political loggerheads with the DP.
Gideon would later land in trouble for allegedly blocking the meeting.
