A video posted by Ma3Route today, Wednesday September 12th shows a matatu which has overturned after its driver lost control.
“Accident along southern bypass. Ngong road bound matatu ime somersault,” the video was captioned.
The matatu which operates on the Ngong-Karen (111) route overturned at the southern bypass.
According to sources, the matatu is said to have been speeding when it flipped and fell on its side.
In the video, passengers can be seen jumping out of the matatu through windows. The matatu can be seen removing smokes.
Several passengers have been reported with minor injuries.
This naught accident comes just days after another matatu smashed into a stationary police car in the Nairobi CBD over the weekend. Some of the matatus that were involved in the weekend saga were believed to operate on the Kibera route.
Matatu drivers have been on various occasions accused of careless driving endangering passengers lives.
