The two city political bigwigs have been trading accusations which have elicited hot debate particularly on social media.

In an exclusive interview on JKL Live show on Citizen TV, the county boss claimed that the ODM legislator had on a certain day invited him to her room at the Nairobi's Intercontinental Hotel.

He accused Passaris, who is currently on official duty in Canada, of disrespecting his family by trying to seduce him to engage in extra-marital activities.

"When she comes here I will ask her why she was inviting me to her room at the Intercontinental Hotel. We want leaders who respect families. I am a husband and a father so I don't want someone to portray me as a man who disrespects women. You can not invite me to a room at Intercontinental yet I have a wife," Sonko said on Wednesday night.

On her part, the Woman Rep has denied the allegations and accused the governor of lying with intent to tarnish her reputation.

Commenting on the issue, Karua has defended Passaris, saying it was not wrong for her to invite Sonko to the hotel and asked people not to read to much to the story.

"If you are staying at a hotel and you call some one to meet you there it does not follow that the meeting is for romance," the former presidential contender tweeted on Saturday.

Politicians; Millie Odhiambo and Gladys Wanga have also defended Passaris from the claims.
