Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i has directed Chiefs and their Assistants to compile a list of all KCPE candidates before results are announced by the Ministry of Education.

The CS made the directive after he witnessed the opening of exam containers at Kilifi South Deputy County Commissioner's office, in Kanamai. 

According to him, the list of the candidates will help in facilitating placement and smooth transition of candidates to Form One come early 2019.

This year, a total of 1,060,703 candidates are sitting for year's KCPE exams.

Accompanied by Coast Regional Commissioner Bernard Leparmarai, Matiang'i also paid an impromptu visit at Mtwapa primary school where he reiterated National government's will to provide the necessary support for the delivery of clean exams.

He wished the candidates all the best in their exams.

 The CS assured them that all of them are guaranteed Form One placements, in line with the government's 100% transition policy.

KCPE exams kicked-off on Tuesday, October 30 nationwide.

Matiang'i, in the company of North Eastern Regional Commissioner Mohammed Birik, witnessed the opening of the exam container at Sankuri Division in Garissa before visiting several schools, including Sankuri and Garissa primary schools on Tuesday.
