Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip has denied allegations that he impregnated a Mombasa woman.
In a video shared on YouTube by Daily Nation, Sunday, Loitiptip claimed the woman wants to blackmail him by alleging that he impregnated her.
The woman, Hanifa Were said that she met the Senator on Facebook and started a relationship with him but the Senator dumped her after she got pregnant.
Loitiptip, however, denied the allegations saying he only knew Were for less than one week and ended things after realizing that the relationship could not work.
The legislator further said that he could not have a relationship with the 36-year-old woman after realizing that she was older than him.
Loitiptip also questioned how the woman got pregnant six months after he ended the relationship with her.
“I knew her for a week and I thought I could have a relationship with her. I, however, realized we could not have anything together,” said the Senator who noted that he is in a relationship with another woman and it's not right for the woman to start insulting the woman that he is dating six months after he ended things.
"I only communicated with her when she started insulting my fiancé to tell her to stay away from my family," he added.
Loitiptip also denied threatening to kill her and sending goons to trail her as she claimed.
The Senator claimed those saying he threatened the woman are aimed at tarnishing his name and ending his political career.
“It is disrespectful to start insulting my fiancé on social media. You can’t force love. The matter is being investigated by the DCI,” added Loitiptip.
