Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday, Aukot said that no party has ever pushed for reforms on its own and succeeded, adding that he has given it his best.

He argued that Kenyans have proven that they are ready for change, and faulted politicians for opposing the initiative.

Aukot alleged that some leaders have embarked on a mission to bribe Members of the County Assemblies (MCAs) so that they can reject the Punguza Mizigo Bill.

The outspoken politician opined that a section of politicians fear that he is becoming a force to reckon with, adding that they are ready to do anything to bring down the Bill.

“This is the biggest success story in Kenya for the last 55 years, no political party has done what we have done; we are only three years old as a political party," he said.

He said that the members of the party are less than one million in the country but noted that he has received overwhelming support from Kenyans from different parts of the nation.

The former presidential candidate said that he is grateful for the massive support he continues to get from Kenyans.

“I don’t think our membership right now has hit one million but 1.2 million Kenyans support this initiative," he said.
