Angry residents who staged demonstrations on Tuesday said they have been reduced to ‘voting robots’ who are ‘dumped’ when elections are over.

“Nobody cares about us. They have shown us that we are only voting robots,” a protester said.

The protesters were lamenting the poor condition of roads in the areas.

They hit out at the Deputy President for allegedly ‘lying to them on July last year that Kiambiriria-Keresoi-Chepsir road would be tarmacked.

Carrying anti-Ruto posters, the demonstrators said they are tired of false promises by the Jubilee government. They told off the DP over his 2022 presidential bid.

Roads in the area are in a very bad state, especially during this rainy season. In one incident, mourners were forced to ferry a deceased person on a motorbike.

“Even the dead cannot rest in peace due to the poor road network here,” Evans Kipng’eno said.
