His resignation comes two days after the overturning of the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) by the High Court to reinstate him in office.

Osotsi decided to seek legal redress after his suspension.

Before leaving office, the nominated MP had accused the top leadership of the party of undermining him. He told the court that the Musalia Mudavadi-led party has infringed on his fundamental right within the political outfit.

“It is evident that the impugned decision is the continuation of an unlawful campaign against Osotsi,” the MP Osotsi in his defence, as quoted by Citizen Digital.

He has been accused of misconduct after it emerged that he had misappropriated funds of the party.

Osotsi landed in trouble after he reportedly failed to prepare a financial statement on the state of affairs of the political outfit.

He also refused to honour summons from the top leadership of the party forcing it to call for his suspension. He has also been put to task to explain how Sh50 million from the party account were used.

He has, however, denied all allegations levelled against him terming them propaganda.

In March, the party had agreed to suspend him following a Special National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.
