Speaking when he toured Machakos Level 5 hospital on Tuesday, Mutua said he intends to deliver on all development pledges before the 2022 general election.

Mutua said it is time for him and his team to work for the people.

He asked local leaders to put politics aside and support his administration.

“God willing, come 2022, when my term as the Machakos Governor ends and in my pursuit to be the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya. I want to leave and be proud of a legacy of a premier public health service in the county,” Mutua said.

Mutua hailed the county’s healthcare system, noting that it is among the best in the country.

He said Machakos hospitals attend to patients from other counties like Kiambu and Nairobi.

Mutua revealed plans of setting up a proper health referral system in efforts to scale up the provision of healthcare services.

He also promised to fast track development in other areas like infrastructure, trade, education and empowerment of marginalized groups.

Mutua is serving his last term in office and is among the top politicians who have declared their interests in the 2022 presidential election.

Mutua will contest for the presidency on his Maendeleo Chap Chap Party.
