The Kamba community has several millionaires and billionaires.  Former Kilome MP Harun Mwau is considered the richest Kamba.  It is estimated that Mwau’s net worth is Sh. 110 billion.  The Former President of the United States of America (USA) Barack Obama once linked Mwau to drug trafficking. Mwau has, however, denied the claims on several occasions.

The wealthy businessman has invested in different sectors of the economy. Some of his well-known companies include Harun International Limited, Vitu Limited, Mwundo Limited, Pepe Enterprises and Sheltown Limited among others. He has worked in different public officers before he chose to quit. He once worked as the first director of the defunct Kenya Anti-Corruption Authority.

Mwau was suspended after six months and removed from office in 1998 through a Judicial Tribunal appointed by the then President Daniel T. arap Moi. The former President appointed Justice Aaron G. Ringera was appointed to succeed him in 1999. Mwau also made history when he contested for Presidency in 1992 but he was floored by Moi. He later moved to court to challenge the outcome of the election but he lost the case. The businessman rarely smiles whenever he is in public. It remains unclear what he does during his free time but he does not drink alcohol.
