Daily Nation's Monday columnist Kaltum Guyo has sensationally claimed that Nairobi City is doomed under the leadership of governor Mike Sonko, who she says is using 'crisis management' to run the businesses in the capital.
Guyo, a legal researcher, feels that Sonko is not really fit to run the affairs of the City given its importance to the country as well as the region as a whole.
In her Monday 6th May open column 'With Methuselahs and dinosaurs in control, Kenya all but doomed,' Guyo describes Sonko as a person who represents the very insults that the whole society should try and passover.
She wrote: "This is a city with a governor who has little to no regard for the rule of law and whose management style is marked by vendetta and unruly behavior. A governor who would rather live a life of opulence in a city with the highest level of poverty in the world."
She took a swipe at Sonko's extravagant lifestyle by comparing it to the 'gangsters' in vulgar rap music whose music videos are characterised by extreme show off. Ms Guyo claims Sonko has no leadership skills to be at the helm of the capital.
She was also critical of the fact that the youth have been marginalised in the country's developmental agenda despite the simple fact that they represent the hottest prospects in the driving of the very agenda.
With times moving fast and the political scene getting hotter by the day, it remains to be seen what politicians do to keep their track records clean in tue run in to the general elections in 2022.
