There was drama at the Pumwani Grounds during Madaraka Day Celebrations as Governor Mike Sonko tore into Nairobi Woman Rep Esther Passaris.
In a video shared online, the flamboyant governor bashes the woman Rep for picking his calls when she feels like.
The remarks offended Passaris, who walked out of the venue as she could not take any more insults.
"It cannot be you pick the phone when you feel like. I am not your husband but when it comes to development we will work together," Governor Sonko raged.
As Passaris left the venue, she was jeered as the governor told her good bye.
Governor Sonko presided over the Madaraka Day celebrations in Nairobi County.
The public tiff highlights the divisions in the Nairobi County leadership.
It is not clear what prompted the governor's angry outburst.
Passaris is no stranger to insults directed at her.
A few years ago, she was viciously attacked by renowned controversial lawyer and socio-polisocio-political commentator Miguna Miguna.
Sonko has a well-documented record of publicly taking on his perceived political adversaries.
The national Madaraka Day celebrations were held in Narok County and were presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Also present in Narok was veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga.
