Duale alleges that people opposed to DP Ruto's 2022 ambition want to change the constitution in order to lock him out of the 2022 race.

The Jubilee MP claims that ODM leader Raila Odinga has sensed defeat in 2022 and is looking for ways to lock out DP Ruto.

Duale says that Raila and others pushing for constitutional review will not succeed.

“We know their plan and we will not allow any attempts to amend the constitution right now,” he said Wednesday.

The MP said that they will only agree to amend the law after the 2022 general election.

He said that the law cannot be changed just to fit the interests of certain political losers.

Duale asked Kenyans to reject the push to amend the law terming it costly and unnecessary.

The debate on constitution amendment has gained momentum.

Raila Odinga is among politicians leading the push for a constitutional review.

However, a section of leaders among them Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Amani National Congress (ANC) Party leader Musalia Mudavadi, and DP Ruto is opposed to the push to have the law amended.
