Speaking on KASS FM Thursday morning, Duale urged Raila to drop his attacks on the DP and alleged attempts to block Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

He demanded that Raila should consider supporting Ruto's candidature in the much-anticipated race, noting that the DP was very useful to him in his 2007 presidential bid.

"Namuomba Raila alipe deni ya deni na amfanyie hisani kwa kumuunga mkono 2022 (he owes Ruto a backing, and should demonstrate his gratefulness by supporting him in 2022)," he said.

This comes amid an ongoing spat between the two leaders' camps after Ruto on Sunday referred to Raila as a fraudulent politician.

Speaking in Kisauni, Mombasa on Sunday, Ruto warned against Raila's alleged plans to kill the ruling Jubilee Party, with the aim of locking him out of the presidency.

He claimed that the veteran politician is using his truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta to facilitate his plans.

"He chased me out of his party and is now out to frustrate me in Jubilee too. We will not allow him to import his conmanship and tricks into Jubilee," said Ruto.
