Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati took a swipe on Deputy President William Ruto on Friday during a fund raiser at one of city hotel.
A charged Simba Arati seemingly labelled Ruto a 'thief' irking several supporters of the DP who had attended a function in support of Shabana FC.
"Leteni hizo pesa hata kama mmeiba. Zilete tu tusaidie Shabana. Hakuna mwenye atazikataa."
It loosely translates to: "Just bring the looted money. Nobody will refuse to take it. Let's just help Shabana."
So divisive were his remarks that they attracted criticism from a section of leaders who had attended the event that saw Ruto donate Sh2 million to financially impaired Shabana.
But in his speech, Ruto seemed to ignore Mr Arati, instead took a swipe on Musalia Mudavadi, who had called for investigations against him.
"Some people take their entire time in bar and here they are questioning how others made fortune. It's really funny of them."
Arati has often castigated Ruto over his wealth, insisting that he might have stolen from taxpayers, a claim which the DP disputes.
