Ms. Momanyi, a former Chief Officer in the same department before her promotion in 2017 December, cited frustrations as main reasons for her exit.

"It's been tough and change of environment was inevitable. I need to grow and I wish the county all the best," she said.

According to her, she penned the resignation on October 30, four days before Nyagarama made her exit public through a special Gazette notice.

In a letter to Peter Muga, the current Trade and Tourism boss, Nyagarama instructs him to immediately take over the finance docket.

"In my capacity as the duly elected Governor of Nyamira, I wish to appoint you as Finance Chief Executive. You will be required to take immediately from Ms Jackline Momanyi, the outgoing officer," reads the letter.

Apparently, Mr Muga, formerly with CPSB, will not be vetted because he faced the County Assembly just less that ten months ago.

It is however not clear whether he will relinquish his tourism portfolio for appointment of another resident.
