Police officers have stormed Metamaywa village in Nyamira County to hunt down villagers who allegedly lynched a man to death on Saturday.
The man, Fred Abuya was killed by angry villagers after he was allegedly caught pants down with his neighbour's daughter.
Area police boss Michael Lesmum said police officers are working around the clock to arrest the masterminds of the incident.
Lesmum said locals need to produce those who lynched the suspect.
"The law protects everyone including those who break the law. Those who lynched the suspect must be brought to book," he said.
Lesmum said police will not tolerate the killers adding that the suspect should have been surrendered to police for court processing.
"Criminals should be taken to court to be sent to jail but not sending them to the grave. Locals who participated in the lynching of Abuya won't get away with it," insisted the police boss who also appealed to local administrators to work closely with detectives to apprehend the villagers who set the suspect on fire.
