NASA leader Raila Odinga has dismissed claims that the opposition has gone to bed with the ruling Jubilee party.
Several analysts and Kenyans have raised concerns over who will do checks and balances to the government after Raila and Kalonzo Musyoka were ‘offered’ jobs after ‘lobbying’ by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Raila has been appointed the African Union Higher Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.
Kalonzo has also been appointed as the head of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) on peace in South Sudan. This came a week barely after he declared he was ready to work with President Uhuru during his father's burial in Mwingi.
As such, many felt the Opposition (NASA) which was led by the two leaders had died a natural death.
However, speaking at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi on Thursday, Raila said the opposition is still strong and would be a watchdog to the Jubilee government.
"I have not joined Government. I do not hold any position in the Jubilee administration. Therefore, nothing stops me from criticising the Government. Those that have contrary views are wrong," said Raila.
