Central Organisation of Trade Union Secretary General Francis Atwoli has launched an attack on former Kakamega County Senator Boni Khalwale.
Over the recent months, a section of leaders from Western Kenya has been calling for the ouster of Khalwale from Ford Kenya.
The former lawmaker is accused of not representing the interests of the Luhya community.
And now, Atwoli is the latest leader calling for the ouster of Khalwale from the party claiming that he is a barrier to Luhya unity.
Speaking during the Maragoli Cultural Festival, Atwoli called on party leader Moses Wetang’ula to take action and expel Khalwale from the party.
“We are trying to unite while one of our very own is hovering with the Deputy President which undermines our quest to unite. I call that because the Party Leader is here, dismiss him from your party and see if the Deputy President will penetrate this region,” said Mr Atwoli.
On the other hand, Wetangula has claimed that Khlwale has already been warned.
“I have already told the bullfighter that the song he is dancing to is unknown to me. There is no moment we sat down and asked him to speak on behalf of the party since the Secretary General is Mr Eseli Simiyu,” said the Bungoma Senator.
Khalwale has come under sharp scruny over his association with Deputy President William Ruto
