Ford Kenya Deputy Party leader Boni Khalwale is now accusing the party leader Moses Wetangula and his colleagues at the helm of the opposition’s National Super Alliance (NASA) for the nation’s current confusion.
Speaking on Radio Citizen on Wednesday morning, the former Kakamega Senator said that Wetangula and his Wiper and Amani National Congress (ANC) counterparts Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka are to blame for the lack of an active opposition in Kenya.
This follows the March 9 truce between opposition leader and the alliance chief Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta, rendering the opposition dormant, with Khalwale recounting advising the trio to pick up and steer the opposing side after Odinga’s apparent exit.
‘’Tungekuwa na upinzani kama hao watatu wangetuskiliza kama washauri wao na kuwachana na NASA na kuchukua hatua nyingine. Wao ndio wa kulaumiwa kwa kutupuuza (had the three heeded our advice and picked up from where Raila left we would be having a vibrant opposition),’’ he said.
Odinga has since assumed a diplomatic role in Uhuru’s government, with his latest assignment being the recent tour in India which saw him hold talks with Indian Premier Narendra Modi on bettering the relationship between the two nations.
The trio has on the other hand been silent lately, apart from Wetangula who on Monday broke his silence, announcing his exit from the 4-party alliance.
