Education minister Gladys Momanyi will finally have to face a special committee of the County Assembly of Nyamira after MCAs unanimously supported her ouster.
Nominated MCA Irene Sese on Thursday moved the motion, accusing Mrs Momanyi of abuse of office, gross misconduct and negligence of duty.
All 28 MCAs who were at the assembly supported the motion, paving way to establishment of a committee to investigate the claims.
"This is just the beginning. I will prove to the committee that she's unsuitable to hold the office. The people of Nyamira want diligent and caring people in offices," she said.
Should the committee find her culpable, MCAs will yet again have an opportunity to vote for removal in the assembly, a move that would further throw her off balance.
Nominated MCA George Mosiori on Thursday said the ongoing fight against corruption in the county will target every official who is mentioned.
"We shall not lose track. We are here to serve interest of the people. Those who think will steal, there is no room for them in Nyamira," he added.
Mrs Momanyi will now have an opportunity to defend himself in the committee. Last week, she dismissed the motion, arguing that it was orchastrated by agents who missed out tenders on construction of ECDE classes.
