The seasoned politician was first elected in 2017 after years of failing to clinch an elective post within the cosmopolitan city of Nairobi.

A Twitter user, Lorna Andisi, had claimed that Ms Passaris in the city's next governor, arguing that Mr Sonko, a former Makadara MP and Nairobi senator, was scared of her.

"But Esther Passaris is the next governor Nairobi County. She qualifies badlyThe rest is noise@EstherPassaris keep the focus.Despots are shaking," she said.

In her response, Passaris said "Thank you. Greetings from Vancouver. #WomenDeliver2019" an indication that she could be interested in the race in 2022.

On Saturday, Passaris walked out of Sonko's function in Pumwani after the Governor blasted her. Sonko had claimed that she always wants him to pick calls without considering circumstances.

“I will pick your calls when I am free. I am not your husband that I should be picking your calls the time you want,” Mr Sonko retorted, infuriating the MP who walked out on him as quoted by the Nation.

In 2008, Passaris lost her quest to lead the larger Embakasi constituency after losing to Ferdinand Waititu in a by-election. She also lost Nairobi Woman Representative seat in 2013 to Rachel Shebesh.
