He called on residents in the sub County to give information to police officers to ensure all drug dealers such as chang’aa brewers, busaa makers and bhang sellers are nabbed.

“We are on high spirit to search and arrest drug peddlers in Kisii South Sub County. Security officers are ready for the job and members of the public are advised to report any drug dealer to police for a legal action to be taken,” said Mburukua.

He warned local government officers such as chiefs and Nyumba Kumi officials against favoring drug dealers.

The police boss assured that by the start of the month of May, there shall be zero cases of chang’aa selling in the region.

“Several people have been arrested for selling outlawed liquor. The few who are left will be nabbed soon. We have unconfirmed reports that some police officers are colluding with illicit brewers to continue supplying chang’aa and selling. The claims are under investigations and offenders will be dealt with accordingly,” he noted.
