Over the weekend, reports emerged that a taskforce constituted by the two principals may have stalled due to lack of financing from the treasury.

But speaking in Nairobi on Sunday, Raila asked his supporters to be patient as he worked on how they will benefit from the handshake.

"I have heard T. J Kajwang plead with me. I just want you to be a little bit patient.

"We shall have Canaan fruits soon. Most of you will be happy and satisfied. Just give me a little time and all will be well," he said.

Mr. Kajwang, the Ruaraka legislator, had hinted to NASA supporters that Raila was 'cooking something in Uhuru's kitchen'.

On Friday, hours before sharing podium with DP Ruto in Nyamira, Raila had insisted that he had no problem having a handshake with the DP as well.

A fortnight ago, reports about Raila holding a night meeting with Uhuru in Mombasa emerged with local media reporting that the two were planning on major cabinet reshuffle.

In many occasions, Raila has openly dismissed reports that his handshake with Uhuru will have his allies rewarded with Cabinet Secretary positions.
