Deputy President William Ruto has been ordered to appear at the Nairobi State House after his said clash with Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, controversial blogger Robert Alai has claimed.
According to Alai, the DP who was set to tour Kakamega county today (Friday) has been summoned for an urgent meeting.
He claims that the confrontation which happened at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) seems to have irked some powerful persons within the government.
"Seems like the DP’s fight with PS Karanja Kibicho is bringing problems in government. DP Ruto just been called for an urgent State House meeting from Kakamega where he was going," Alai tweeted, Friday morning.
According to the People Daily, the altercation emerged after Ruto spotted Kibicho in a delegation waiting to receive President Uhuru Kenyatta at the airport.
The two, according to the report, gave each other a 15-minute dressing down as other top state officials, among them Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) boss Samson Mwathethe watched.
The incident, the People Daily reports had everything to do with Kibicho's alleged involvement in the absence of local security officers during Ruto's functions lately.
Also present was Kieni MP Kanini Mega who is said to have walked away when the argument ensued.
